An incredibly easy 3-ingredient Christmas mimosa that's easy to adapt. It has a balance of sparkling wine, cranberry juice, and a splash of orange and is the perfect holiday cocktail!
1ouncechilled cranberry juice(make sure it's plain cranberry juice, not those mixed with other juices or sugars)
1/2ouncefreshly squeezed orange juice
3ounceschilled sparkling wine
Optional Garnish
1fresh rosemary spring
2wholefresh cranberries(pomegranate seeds work too)
1tablespooncane sugar(for an optional sugar rim)
Instructions
Pour 1 oz of cranberry juice and 1/2 oz of orange juice into a glass. Top with the sparkling wine.
Garnish: garnish with a rosemary spring, cranberries, or pomegranate seeds
Optional Sugar Rim: If you plan to do a sugar rim, wipe the rim of the glass with juice BEFORE adding any liquid. Place the cane sugar in a small flat plate, then gently rotate the rim of the glass in the cane sugar. The liquid from the juice will help the sugar stick to the rim. Then, make the cocktail.
Notes
What Type of Sparkling Wine? We don't recommend using overly expensive sparkling wine. There are plenty of options under $20.00 that aren't too sweet.
Consider a Gruet Brut from New Mexico. Available throughout North America in most wine retailers and grocery stores.
Cava will add great flavor as well.
Prosecco is an affordable option but tends to run a little sweet.
Avoid anything that says sec or demi-sec on the bottle as those will have too much residual sugar.
Tip: Make sure the sparkling wine is chilled before making the mimosas.
